Dandruff is a common scalp problem. It normally refers to the shedding of scalp skin resulting in white flakes scattered over the hair. It causes the scalp an itchy and annoying feeling. Dandruff is more common in winter and least severe in summer.
How to Get Rid of Dandruff?
1. If you are facing form dandruff problem, use a medicated shampoo. It will reduce the speed of the growth of the cells on the scalp, thus lessening the cell replacement and decreasing the amount of dandruff.
2. Shampoo your hairs up to three times a week using anti dandruff (antiseptic and medicated) shampoo until the situation is controlled. Then, continue use of the medicated shampoo once every week.
3. Stop using gels, hair-coloring products and hairsprays. Don’t scratch the scalp when it is itchy. This will cause the problem to worsen.
4. If the problem still remains severe, see your doctor for anti-inflammatory cream for your scalp or anti-dandruff tablets to ingest.
5. Try vinegar. Pour vinegar into your hairs and massage it all the way for a couple of minutes. Then leave it dry for a few more minutes. Then wash your hairs as normal. Do this everyday for a few days until your dandruff get controlled.
6. Consider changing your diet. Try to avoid processed foods and also foods high in hydrogenated fats. Increase your intake of omega-3 fatty acids by eating wild cold-water fish, freshly ground flax seeds, walnuts, fortified eggs, and leafy green vegetables.
