In this article, I am going to discuss some home remedies to get rid of dandruff.

So, let start with the fenugreek seeds. They are one of the most important remedies for treatment of dandruff. Soak a handful of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind it in the morning to form a thick paste. Apply the paste on to your scalp generously and leave it to dry on its own. It normally takes 30-45 minutes to dry. The scalp should then be cleansed thoroughly with soap nut solution or shikakai.

The other recommended cure dandruff is lime juice. Take two tablespoons of fresh lime juice and use it for the last rinse while washing the hair to get rid of dandruff. Regular use of lime juice not only removes dandruff but also makes the hair look shiny and non sticky.

Gram powder is also used as a cure for dandruff. Take handful of gram powder and mix it in a cup of curd to form a thick paste. Apply the paste to the hair and scalp and leave it for drying. Utmost care should be taken while washing out the paste as it leaves a pungent smell if not properly washed. Beet preferably white beet can also be used for dandruff cure. Boil the top and root of beet in water. Massage the boiled water on to the scalp with the finger tips every night to get rid of dandruff.

Super Six Ways to Avoid Constipation

Constipation is generally referred as disturbances in your digestive tract. It is a common disorder which normally everyone faces at least once in their life. It is a direct result of your lifestyle you lead which includes the food you eat and those which your diet lacks.

Constipation is an irregular movement of your bowels. It itself is a root to many diseases and disorders as it produces toxins in the blood serum and then those are carried to the other body parts. It can cause other diseases such as rheumatism, appendicitis, arthritis, cataract, high blood pressure and even cancer in some of the rarest cases.

There are some easy ways you can avoid constipation. They are as below:

1. Include enough fiber in your diet - On an average an adult should take 25 to 35 g of fiber a day and if you aren't eating a lot of fruits, vegetables and whole wheat products then chances are you are getting way less than that. Fiber helps add roughage to your bowel movements and aids your bowels in working correctly so it is vital if you want to have regular movements and avoid constipation.

2. Try to take enough fluids - If you don't drink enough fluids, your stools will become hard and this will make it more difficult to have a regular movement. You should drink at least eight 8 oz glasses of water a day.

3. Certain medications - Even few medications also causes constipation so if you're on any medicine it's a good idea to check it to see if it is constipation causing. If it is, you'll want to counteract it by adding even more fiber into your diet and making sure you get enough water to correct.

4. Pregnancy - Pregnant women often suffer from constipation due to the many changes going on in their body. The best way to combat this, and also the healthiest way, is to get a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as well as drink a lot of water.

5. Decrease coffee consumption - Caffeinated coffee can cause you to become constipated because caffeine acts as a diuretic and causes water to be lost in your urine instead of placing the water in your colon where it can help solve your stools.

6. Daily exercises - Exercising is a great way to get everything moving and help relieve constipation. Walking is especially good as the gentle rocking motion can help stimulate your bowels into action. Try taking a half-hour walk every day it is many health benefits not the least of which is helping you to avoid constipation.

An herbal formula, Triphala that is composed of three natural herbs: amla, harada and behada - is suggested by ayurvedic experts for treating constipation naturally. Psoriasis Treatment & How To Deal With The Illness

Psoriasis is a non-contagious skin condition that produces red scaley patches, which are most commonly found on the knees and elbows. In order to combat this illness, an aggressive psoriasis treatment is often prescribed by a dermatologist. Rarely resulting from a rare genetic gene, psoriasis is more commonly associated with a weakened immune system. In addition, emotional stress, physical injury or recent sickness are all believed to play a large role in the appearance of psoriasis. As a result, the condition is often worsened by either physical or emotional stress and may cause depression and loss of self-esteem.

There are several types of psoriasis, but all appear as red skin lesions that may cause great discomfort to the sufferer. Depending on the severity, extreme itching and pain may accompany the breakout. In order to prevent further suffering, a dermatologist may recommend a psoriasis treatment in accordance with the location, severity and size of the problem area(s). Often prescribed in steps used to gradually treat the illness, a psoriasis treatment may include medication directly applied to the skin, light therapy and/or the use of oral or injected medications to help treat the entire immune system.

Because everyone is unique, each psoriasis treatment will vary from one person to another. In addition, psoriasis may become resistant to recurring treatment forcing a dermatologist to periodically switch to another approach. When applied directly to the skin, physicians find that a psoriasis treatment consisting of an ointment or creme is likely to improve the skin’s condition.

Individuals who are searching for a psoriasis treatment that will soothe their skin may find that adding oil to their bath water and later applying moisturizer to their skin, may help to temporarily ease the discomfort. When applied on a regular basis and for an extended period of time, moisturizers may prove to be an effective, but temporary, psoriasis treatment. Sunlight may also serve as a natural psoriasis treatment as brief exposure to the sun may help to eliminate some of the itchy, red patches.

Psoriasis is a chronic illness that leaves the sufferer open to recurring symptoms throughout their life, which is why an effective psoriasis treatment is important to maintaining comfort. There is currently no cure for psoriasis but, with a good dermatologist and a lifestyle that calls for less stress and improved nutrition, psoriasis doesn’t have to control every day.

This article is intended to be used for informational purposes only. It is not to be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice or a dermatologist’s recommendation. Prior to beginning any Psoriasis treatment program, individuals should consult a physician for proper diagnosis and/or an appropriate treatment regimen.

Arthritis Causes and Treatment

Arthritis is the inflammation of the joints and is characterized by acute pain and swelling. Swelling of the joints accompanied by debilitating pain is a sure sign of arthritis. The treatment of arthritis, therefore, aims to reduce the swelling as well as the pain. The term arthritis is a combination of two Greek words: ‘artho’, which means bones and ‘itis’, which means inflammation.

Causes of Arthritis

Why the joints? Wherever there is a meeting point of the bones, you will find a rubbery layer that works as a form of protection for the bones. There is so much wear and tear in the joints that it proves too much even for cartilage alone. It is ably assisted by the synovial fluid which is produced by the synovium, the aforementioned rubbery layer. The wearing out of the cartilage triggers off an inflammation in the synovium and this can cause osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment of arthritis is primarily to ease the severe pain caused by this inflammation. Excess weight puts additional strain on the lower joints of the body and so treatment of arthritis almost always entails a weight loss program.

There are different kinds of arthritis, which affect joints in different parts of the body. Osteoarthritis is the painful deterioration of the cartilage that cushions the body’s joints. Arthritis of the big toe is called gout. Arthritis afflicts people of all ages, even children, when it is called juvenile arthritis. Statistics show that about one third of the American population afflicted with this ailment seeks treatment or relief. Of this percentage, three quarters are women.

Treatment of Arthritis

Today, there is a need for more aggressive treatment of arthritis pain. All treatment of arthritis should begin with a comprehensive assessment of pain and function. Alternative therapies for treatment range from A (acupuncture) to Z (zinc sulfate), with much in between - from copper bracelets and magnets to glucosamine and yoga. The efficacy of most of the alternative therapies in the treatment of arthritis has yet to be proven however.

Herbs and Vitamins

There is ongoing research in an effort to find the most effective treatment of arthritis. Natural cures are being sought after as a long-term treatment of arthritis. A good diet, which keeps the bones well oiled, is the best start in the natural treatment of arthritis. The Omega-3 treatment stresses the importance of consuming foods rich in Omega-3 including plenty of fish, as this nutrient keeps the joints well oiled and reduces pain. Flaxseed is a good alternative source of Omega-3 for those who don’t like eating fish, and flaxseed powder is often used in supplements or natural remedies for arthritis. Preventive action can be taken by ensuring the adequate intake of Vitamins C and D and Calcium. Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided for effective treatment of arthritis.

A healthy diet coupled with an exercise regimen is an integral part of the treatment of arthritis. Small steps such as a daily brisk walk or early morning stretches go a long way in aiding the treatment of arthritis. Stretches should be done slowly and with a fluidity of movement so as not to hurt the joints that you are actually trying to heal. You should consult with a doctor before doing stretches as a part of the treatment of arthritis.

The saying ‘Prevention is better than cure’ holds good in the treatment of arthritis. Preventive measures, if taken in good time, make future treatment of arthritis easier. The better way of course would be to take care of your body so well that no treatment of arthritis is necessary. vitamin support for Arthritis treatment

Get Rid Of Dry Skin Forever

Skin isn't dry because it lacks oil, but because it lacks water. Only a lucky few have 'normal' skin; the rest of us have a dry, oily or combination variety; if dryness is your problem, read on. Symptoms most associated with Xeroderma (dry skin) are scaling, which is the visible peeling of the outer skin layer, itching and cracks in the skin.

Skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity. Skin also harbors many nerve endings that provide the sense of touch and heat. Skin is considered one of the most important parts of the body.

Epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin. The epidermis contains no blood vessels, and cells in the deepest layers are nourished by diffusion from blood capillaries extending to the upper layers of the dermis. The epidermis can be further subdivided into the following strata (beginning with the outermost layer): corneum, lucidum (only in feet), granulosum, spinosum, and basale.

Environmental factors such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps, can cause dry skin. Dry skin could be due to a genetic condition. Certain drugs, including diuretics, antispasmodics, and antihistamines, can contribute to dry skin. Bathing or showering too frequently, especially if one is using harsh soaps, may also contribute to xeroderma.

Use a humidifier if the air is dry. Dry your skin gently and thoroughly, patting not rubbing. Use as little soap as possible limiting its use to armpits and genitals.

Good skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system. Put 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in your smoothies. Fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin. You want to work from the inside out too. For an easy fiber boost, mix in 2 tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds in raw applesauce, from 2-3 apples, made in your food processor.

Also use a thin layer of coconut oil under your make-up to moisturize your skin all day. It just takes motivation, a willingness to try it, and diligent application of coconut oil several times daily and at bedtime to see its benefits. Use bath oils and moisturizers, especially coconut oil, at least daily. Apply a thin layer of coconut oil and massage it deep into the skin.

Sunlight, water and air play an important role in keeping the skin healthy. Dry skin can be converted into healthy skin using natural home remedies. The skin is subject to constant attack from without, so can be affected by numerous conditions, diseases and ailments.

Make sure to call your dermatologist when you have any open cuts or sores from scratching that won't heal. You should see the results with improved skin within a few days following this advice. If nothing seems to work it might be more than dry skin, so you should see the doctor.

Tips About Aromatherapy Soaps and Baths

Aromatherapy, since its discovery has already created various demands among people seeking not only for invigoration but also for internal and external healing of certain conditions. This range from physiological to physical and psychological conditions that could all be affected with the altering of moods that are caused by the aroma of essential oils. In a nutshell, aromatherapy uses the essential oils to cause the healing of specific conditions, say skin diseases and psychological conditions such as anxiety disorders.

In fact, cures using aromatherapy have been found to answer the pressing demands in many diseases and disorders that have not found effective cures with conventional medicine yet. Thus, it is no wonder that integrated medicine has become popular in the medical mainstream.

There are a number of ways to help maximize the effects that are delivered through using this art. While many fields still fail to agree with these benefits, we still cannot negate the fact that aromatherapy has truly gained approval both in the scientific and medical communities.

Aromatherapy, apart from using candles and essential oils for topical treatments also advocate the use of these materials in bathing.

For many of us, bathing is not for hygienic purposes alone. It is also practiced to bring soothing effects on both the body and the mind. If you can learn meditation and contemplation during bathing, you will find that an hour or two in the bath tub is very helpful in clearing off your mind from bugging thoughts on daily affairs.

Normally, aromatherapy used in baths only uses individual essential oils or a concoction of these poured into the tub. However, many find using soaps with essential oils a more practicable one. This is mainly due to the fact that pre-mixed aromatherapy soaps can prevent improper blending.

Also, not all of us have bath tubs to where we can enjoy our hot baths with. Without a tub to fit ourselves into, we would not be able to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy since we could not immerse ourselves into the pleasure of hot aromatic bath. Another benefit of aromatherapy soap is that it can be used in conjunction with massage therapy. As you might have already read, aromatherapy also employs the art of massage therapy to soothe and relax muscles.

Apart from using massage oils and lotions, you can also use bath soaps to personally knead certain body parts to relive muscle tension on minimal level. Thus, you no longer have to ask the assistance of another person just to bring that relieving process.

Besides, aromatherapy soaps can be readily bought in local department stores and aromatherapy stores that sell all kinds of products that bring healing trough natural herbs and oils.

The choice of the aromatherapy soap depends on your preference and knowledge on the benefits of the essential oils.

Some of the main favorites in aromatherapy baths are the rose, chamomile and ylang ylang oil. All these have romantic essences that set the relaxed moods. Often, these are found in essential oil forms but can also be found integrated in herbal soaps that could bring similar effects.

Aromatherapy bath using aromatherapy soaps is not only a good way to spend a stress-free time but may also cure certain skin diseases and could also take you away from bothering thoughts that often cause psychological disorders.

These clothes have been successfully undergone clinical trials in Balaramapuram, the Government Ayurveda College in Thiruvananthapuram.

Home Treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel syndrome is a common problem with the intestines. Doctor will likely to start listing a bunch of medications you can take to help control Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), when you visit your doctor to talk about it.

However, you may want to seek out other therapy options, if you don't feel comfortable taking medication daily. You have the control over your Irritable bowel syndrome and ultimately make all decisions about what treatment you need.

The great thing is that whether you are on medication or not, there are several things you can do at home to help with irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.

You might want to think about hypnosis for your IBS symptoms, if you are more into alternative medicine and other more natural treatments. There are usually three types of people when it comes to hypnosis: those that don't believe in it at all, those that love it, and those that have never tried it.

However, you too might see the positive effects it can have on your mind and body, once you try hypnosis. When it comes to how hypnosis relates to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, the answer lies in the patient's stress level.

Hypnosis works to lessen overall stress and when it is effective in doing so, irritable bowel syndrome patients will experience fewer IBS symptoms. Mainly, a hypnotist can help get you to a deep relaxed state where you can learn to endorse positive thoughts about your overall health.

There are ways to practice this at home as well. You can learn to use self-hypnotherapy while you are on your own at home, or in between hypnosis treatments.

Basically, irritable bowel treatment hypnosis is much like a deep meditation. You will have less stress and will be able to cope with IBS much easier, if you take the time to work on your mind as well as your body.

You probably understand already why people are drawn to it, if you have ever tried yoga. It is not only a way to get in shape, but also a way to unwind and clear your mind of stress. It is very effective in helping with irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.

The idea of yoga deals with the body and the mind, which is what an IBS sufferer needs to focus on. There are many yoga positions that are specifically designed to help promote better digestion and to ease digestive symptoms.

You can do yoga in the comfort of your own home. Get a DVD with basic yoga moves on it and get started right away!

For an IBS syndrome sufferer, exercise is important for a variety of reasons. First, exercise generally makes your body stronger. It is usually a good idea to be on a regular exercise program, no matter what disease or disorder you might be suffering from.

Exercise boosts the immune system, making other diseases and disorders less likely to occur.

Second, exercise is an excellent stress-reliever. Some medical practitioners believe that IBS syndrome has psychological roots. This means that IBS syndrome might have its beginnings in a mental state.

A highly-stressed mind is prone to mental problems; mental problems lead to physical problems. IBS syndrome symptoms have often been observed to occur when a person is under unusual amounts of stress.

So it has not been proved that stress is a cause of IBS syndrome, but it certainly worsens the situation. Every effort to reduce undue stress must be made. Exercising is one of the best ways to do this.

Good Sleep Habits

One of the biggest factors in your overall Irritable Bowel Syndrome treatment is getting enough sleep. Studies show that Irritable Bowel Syndrome sufferers who don't get at least 8 hours of sleep a night have a higher frequency of symptoms.

So this home treatment is very inexpensive, but it can be difficult when you are on a set schedule. Just try to get yourself into the bed fifteen to thirty minutes earlier each night. Before you know it, you will work yourself up to getting those 8 hours you need, without feeling like you are missing out on anything.

5 Simple And Effective Gout Home Treatment Ideas

Gout home treatment may be another alternative remedy you can use instead of, or as a compliment to tissue salts. There are different home remedies that can help treat gout, and many of them are practical treatments that are easy to use and follow.

Here are 5 gout home treatment options you can consider:

1. Low-purine diet – One of the best natural gout treatments you can follow is to control your diet by eliminating foods that are high in purines, which are known to trigger and worsen attacks of gout. In fact, it is estimated that half of uric acid produced by the body is a result of purine rich foods consumed in the diet.

Studies have found that by following a low purine diet that focuses on eliminating high purine foods (I.E. organ meats, wild game, meat extract, gravies, sardines, anchiovies, scallops, mackerel, sweetbreads, etc.), and encourages vegetable protein, dairy products and increased water intake, can effectively decrease and prevent sudden painful gout attacks.

Keep in mind that some foods high in purines contain certain essential nutrients your body requires such as protein. Therefore, you will need to ensure you replace them so your body is receiving adequate nutrients to stay healthy. Speak to your doctor or dietitian about what foods contain the nutrients you need and are safe for your condition. You may also want to consider taking a multivitamin.

2. Water – Believe it or not, but water is actually an excellent gout home treatment. Not only is water safe to drink and side-effect free, but drinking plenty of it daily aids in proper digestion and will actually help you flush excess uric acid out of your system. Furthermore, drinking plenty of water can help prevent kidney stones and help those suffering from an uncomplicated case of stones pass them.

It is important to lower your intake of beverages that cause dehydration such as alcoholic and caffeinated drinks (I.E. soda, coffee, tea). Stick to hydrating beverages including water (8 – 10 glasses daily), herbal tea and fruit juice.

3. Cherries or cherry juice – Cherries are an effective gout home treatment. Cherries, in all their forms (I.E. Fruit –canned, dried, fresh, black, red sour and sweet yellow cherries or cherry juice), have been found to prevent gout attacks and help alleviate inflammation during an attack.

If using cherries as a natural remedy for gout, here are some guidelines:
Cherry fruit – eat at least 10 cherries and no more than half a pound daily...or
Cherry juice – 1 6 oz glass of cherry juice 1-2 times daily.

Note: Although cherries have no known side effects, eating too much of one food can cause stomach distress (I.E. constipation, diarrhea, etc.). Therefore, while you should keep the above guidelines in mind and not exceed them, you should ingest the amount your body is comfortable with.

4. Charcoal poultice - Charcoal poultice is a gout home treatment remedy that reduces inflammation. It is created by mixing half a cup of activated powdered charcoal with 3-7 tbs. of grounded flaxseed. When the mixture becomes mealy, warm water is then added to turn it into paste. The paste (charcoal poultice) is placed on the inflamed joint and covered with a plastic or cloth dressing. Dressings should be changed approximately every 4 hours and can be left on over night.

Be advised, charcoal poultice will stain virtually any fabric it touches. Check online or at your local nutritional store for active charcoal powder.

5. Rest and Relaxation – Resting a gout-inflamed joint is a mandatory home gout treatment if you want the joint to heal faster. Keep the affected joint elevated and stay off it as much as you can so you don’t aggravate the inflammation further. In addition, make sure you keep the joint warm or cool – whatever makes it feel most comfortable and less tense to reduce joint stress.

Although most gout home treatment remedies are safe and effective, they shouldn’t replace your doctor’s advice. Make sure you consult your doctor first before staring any gout treatment plan.

Remedies For Ringworm

Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection caused by dermatophytes. Ringworm is a common infection being seen in more than 20 percent of the humans. It appears as round or oval red patches that cause itchiness and pain. In the initial phase, ringworm looks like a pimple. After a short period from its occurrence the ringworm expands and the center of the sore becomes clear. If the infected zone is scratched the risk of infecting other parts of the body increases. This is possible with the help of the nails. Even if treatment is not always necessary it is recommended to see a doctor because the infection might get chronic.

There are many types of ringworm such as scalp ringworm, body ringworm, feet ringworm and nail ringworm. The scalp infection is usually seen in children because of the lack of protective fatty acids in their scalp. This infection spreads on the skin and affects the hair too. The affected hair becomes dull and breaks leading to temporary baldness.

Ringworm spreads trough direct or indirect contact with an infected person or animal. Sometimes ringworm may develop after soil touch. It is also true that these cases are rare.

Many ways of treating ringworm are known. Medical treatment is usually prescribed but home remedies might help as much as medicines.

Papaya is one fruit that has benefic effects over the ringworm patches. Slices of this fruit applied on the infection are believed to be helpful. Also helpful is believed to be the treatment with butea seeds. A paste of these seeds mixed with lime juice has to be applied on the patches. Useful in reducing the irritation are the cassia leaves. These leaves are also used to ease swellings and pains. Other leaves might help too. The juice extracted from the holy basil leaves applied over the infected area might also help. The juice of turmeric is very effective too. This juice is helpful after oral administration that consists of a cup of turmeric juice mixed with an equal quantity of honey.

Vegetable juice is helpful. A mixture of carrot juice and spinach juice proved to be efficient in treating ringworm.

A special diet is recommended for ringworm. The patient should take plenty of fruits for at least five days. This all fruit diet guarantees that infections will be eliminated and a substantial improvement will be visible. Patients should also avoid tea, coffee and spicy foods.

Fresh air and plenty of water drinking along with warm water enema are recommended.

Why Natural Remedies Are Healthier And Cheaper

You are probably well aware of the high cost of health care insurance these days. Even if your employer pays for all or most of your health care insurance, you have undoubtedly seen those deductions going up, the co-pays getting higher, while the overall quality of the health care has not improved significantly. A large portion of this is because of the number of drugs and chemicals that are prescribed for even the most minor of ailments, and the costs of those prescription drugs is stratospheric and getting higher all the time.

So what can you do about it? One of the things you should seriously consider in order to keep costs under control is Natural Remedies. These are remedies that have been around for hundreds or even thousands of years. Remember, people way back then had many of these same ailments that you are dealing with, and they needed some way to cope with them and alleviate the pain. The very interesting thing about this is that most of these natural health remedies can be found as OTC (Over The Counter) medications that do not require a doctor’s prescription, and many have been found to be equally as effective (or even more effective) than their prescription high-priced counterparts.

You may need to visit a health food store to find some things, but you can be assured that the cost is going to be a very pleasant surprise, compared to what you pay for their prescription equivalents, and they do not contain nearly as many (or any at all) nasty side effects. For example, if you have a migraine, you may have read the warnings on the prescription medication, something about “may cause vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea, and/or cravings for artichokes”. So let’s look at this – by solving one problem, I am introducing five others? No thank you, I would rather stick with the migraine.

Natural remedies are there to resolve a myriad of different problems. And instead of nasty side effects, natural remedies can produce some POSITIVE side effects. For example, some natural remedies for headaches will also produce better blood flow and make the delivery of oxygen to the cells of the body more efficient. If you suffer from insomnia, you are probably taking some kind of medication just so that you can get some rest at night so that you are not totally toasted at work and can be functional. But you should know that the natural remedy Valerian is non-toxic as well as providing a much improved quality of sleep at night.

One of the bigger problems of today’s adolescent is acne. While there are a ton of OTC and prescription cures, almost all of these are topical meaning that they affect only the surface of the skin. There are several natural remedies that work on the topical as well as the part of the problem, and many have found that these are incredibly effective as an acne cure.

Do not dismiss natural remedies and herbal remedies simply because they have existed for a long time or because they do not use prescription drugs. In many cases, the natural remedy is just as effective as the prescription remedy, and even more so. And in almost all cases, the natural remedy is going to be much nicer to your wallet.

Natural Remedies To Help Treat Yeast Infections

Although yeast infections can become quite painful and irritating, sometimes the best way to treat an infection is through your own remedies. There are several natural remedies for yeast infections that can be applied to the area and quickly heal the infection. Everything from garlic to yogurt can potentially heal your infection without the worry of it coming back.

The most common natural remedy for yeast infections is either milk or yogurt. The key is to purchase milk or yogurt that contains live Lactobacillus acidophilus cultures. The Lactobacillus will help keep Candida yeast organisms in check by controlling the bacteria that helps prevent and heal the infection.

If you opt to use yogurt as your natural remedy, it has been clinically found that a consumption of at least 8 ounces of yogurt containing Lactobacillus acidophilus will help reduce the number of yeast organisms. If you opt to drink milk, a consumption of at least 10-15 ounces is recommended, if not more.

Another natural remedy for yeast infections is garlic. What garlic will do is relieve symptoms and reduce the yeast growth. What you will do is take a clove of fresh garlic, peel it, wrap it in gauze and then insert the clove into the vagina. For the best results, the garlic clove needs to be removed and replaced two times a day.

White vinegar makes for a great natural remedy and is cheap and convenient. White vinegar can be used to make your own homemade douche. The white vinegar will help increase the acidity level of the vaginal area, thus inhibiting and lowering the growth of Candida yeast growth.

All that is needed to make your own douche is a combination of one tablespoon of white vinegar with one pint of water. The solution should be applied to the infected area two times a day for approximately five to seven days. If you are seeing no results whatsoever, the safe bet would be to go to the doctor and get on a stronger prescription treatment.

The last plausible natural remedy for yeast infections is grapefruit seed extract. Using 10 to 15 drops of grapefruit seed extract and drinking it everyday for a month will help control Candida yeast growth and maintain a high level of necessary bacteria to fight off Candida.

While there are several natural remedies for yeast infections, not all are effective for everyone. You can try out a couple of methods if you find that one simply isn’t working, but try not to drag on your natural remedies for too long. The longer you go without completely healing the infection, the harder it will be to heal.

Natural Heartburn Treatments Versus Other Treatments

Natural heartburn treatments have been gaining momentum as the choice heartburn treatments in many households. Though there are a number of over-the-counter and prescribed medications and drugs to treat heartburn, most are non-curative unlike natural heartburn treatments. People are also increasingly concerned about the harmful side-effects of such medicines. Folks are now more willing and ready to learn about heartburn, its preventive measures and natural heartburn treatments.

Before we head to the local pharmacy for quick fixes with over-the-counter and prescribed medicines, we need to be aware of the different self care tips we can use to reduce the occurrences of heartburns and prevent them from happening in the first place. A lot has to do with our diet. It is common knowledge that consuming certain foods could trigger heartburns. We also do know that eating right before bedtime is not a good idea at all. Yet, we simply ignore these warnings and stick to our unhealthy eating habits. When the pains of heartburns strike at us, we reach out quickly for our heartburn medication. Unfortunately, in the long run, this quick fix loses its effectiveness and not only so, your heartburn condition can be aggravated.

What are possible harmful side effects of OTC and prescribed medicines and drugs?

You may not be aware but heartburn medicines such as antacids are acid blockers and in the process of offering heartburn relief by blocking stomach acids, they also block nutrients adsorption and hinder digestion. So you may end up in a worst condition. Besides this, since a number of medicines contain trace elements such as aluminum, magnesium, calcium and sodium bicarbonate, patients may suffer from constipation, stomach bloating, excessive gas, stomach upset, abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea and excessive after-effect acid production.

Enough is said about the possible risks. We will take a look at how natural heartburn treatments can help to arrest heartburns without causing repercussions in our health.

1. Diet

There are some foods that trigger heartburns. You need to also keep track of foods that can cause you to develop heartburns. Avoid them at all cost.

a. Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits like tomatoes, grapefruit and oranges increase the stomach acidity, and irritate the esophagus.

b. Fatty Foods

Fatty foods are difficult to digest and tend to stay in our stomach longer, giving it a greater chance of escaping to the esophagus.

c. Caffeinated and Carbonated Beverages

Avoid coffee, tea and other caffeinated beverages. These drinks increase stomach acidity. Carbonated drinks like soda promote production of gases.

d. Alcohol, Peppermint, Spearmint and Chocolate

These foods relax the lower esophageal sphincter, the valve between the stomach and the esophagus. Stomach acids could then escape to the esophagus, inducing heartburns. Alcohol can also affect muscle contractions which indirectly affect swallowing of food into the stomach, and irritate the esophagus.

e. Foods that Irritate the Esophagus

Other foods include raw onions, garlic, pepper, vinegar and other spices.

2. Home Remedies as Natural Heartburn Treatments

There are a number of home remedies which make excellent natural heartburn treatments. Here is a list you can try:

a. Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera juices have been widely used in European countries as natural heartburn treatments. They are soothing to the esophagus.

b. Ginger

Ginger can be prepared with fresh foods or, sliced or powdered and prepared as ginger tea. In both ways, they are good for digestion and are known to aid in suppressing heartburn.

c. Chamomile

Chamomile tea is excellent for treating heartburns.

d. Licorice

It has been reported that licorice is one of the best natural heartburn treatments. DGL, acronym for deglycyrrhizinated licorice is readily available at any health and lifestyle shops in the form of chewing gums and tablets. Daily consumption would effectively suppress the recurrence of heartburns.

e. Fibrous Foods

Eating more fibrous foods like cereals, fruits and vegetables are useful for our digestive systems. A medical research study found that those who stick to a high-fiber diet are 20 percent less likely to suffer from acid reflux heartburns. Fruits like cantaloupe, bananas and apple and vegetables like peas, celery, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are packed with fibers.

Top Home Remedies For Acne

Fortunately, home remedies are a paradise for treating acne. There are many effective home remedies for acne and that too according to the type of acne you are suffering from.

But before you use any home remedy for your acne, you must understand the nature of acne breakouts. Acne is not a skin condition. When acne appears on your skin, your skin is just suffering because of the duty assigned to it to expel the bodily impurities within. In the process, it contributes its humble mite to save the various tender and vital body parts within.

Acne is not interested in establishing a permanent abode on your skin. It will vanish the moment you are internally pure. Now this statement is not meant to negate the external medication for acne.

Factors like the wrong food habits and improper care of the skin, natural hormonal change are usually responsible for the appearance or attack of acne. The skin cells seep the essentials within the medicine and thus contribute to certain extent to restore the health of the skin.

Here is a list of top home remedies for acne:

1.Take some fresh milk and grind nutmeg and apply the paste on the affected area. This is supposed to be a wonder solution. Without leaving a mark, acne, pimples and zits will go the way they arrived.

2.Mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with three tablespoons of honey. This paste should be routinely applied on the affected area for about a fortnight. And pimples should go for ever.

3.Or, alternatively mix one teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder and apply this mixture on the pimple affected area.

4.Application of fresh garlic juice on and around the pimple is highly beneficial. The juice will not let the pimple leave any mark on your face.

5.You will get similar results by the application of orange peel paste.6.Lime juice works well on pimples with several combinations. Mix it with one tablespoon groundnut oil. Now, applying this will block the formation of blackheads and pimples.

7.Fresh mint juice is known as the panacea for pimples, scabies, skin infections, insect stings and eczema.

8.Paste of fenugreek leaves on the face, even if you don't have pimples, helps to improve the skin health. It is very good to prevent blackheads, pimples and wrinkles.

9.Any paste made by fruits and vegetables like tomato, cucumber or papaya, if applied on the face, and retained for 15 minutes and washed thereafter improves the skin health and blocks the future breakouts.

The list of home remedies for pimples is endless. You need to try and pursue the line of natural treatment that suits you best. Let that be your firm conviction, for acne can be treated without any hard medications, drugs and injections.

Home Remedies For Shiny Hair

We all love our hair and would not mind taking that extra step to take care them. For beautiful, lustrous and shiny hair use these simple home remedies.

• A tea and beer rinse is one of the oldest ways to bring shine to your hair. Boil used tea leaves in enough water, let it cool and then use this liquid as the last rinse.

• In the similar fashion you can use flat beer (i.e. after letting the fizz out). This is a great conditioner to be used for your hair.

• Lemon juice mixed with water can also be used as a last rinse to give your hair a shiny and bouncy look.

• A shiny look is also provided if you use vinegar for your final rinse.

• To bring that shine one can use honey to keep your scalp moisturized. You can make honey lotion for your hair by mixing 3 teaspoons of honey for pint of water.

• The use of henna as a natural conditioner proves to be very beneficial for your hair. It helps to bring back the bounce and flair of your hair which has been lacking for quite a while.

• You can add small amount of baking soda in the shampoo which, removes dirt and grease from your hair to give you the shiny look.

• To remove the dirt and other matter from your hair you can use one fourth cup of apple cider vinegar in one gallon of condensed water. This can be stored in the refrigerator and can be used every two weeks for clean, smooth, silky and shiny hair. The proper way to use this solution is to wet your hair with warm water, shampoo it later rinse it. Pour two cups of this mixture and leave it in your hair for sometime. The last stage is to rinse your hair with cold-water.

• To get that extra shine for your hair brew one cup of strong espresso, let it cool. Pour the espresso over your dry hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse it to get the extra shine and glow.

• You can also make Egg shampoo at home which requires 1 egg, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon castile soap, 1/2 a cup water or herbal tea and last but not the least 5 drops of essential oils of your choice. Blend all these together to make an Egg shampoo which can bring shine to your hair.

• Many of us who want to clean their hair use shampoos. Try this for a change, massage baking soda into your hair and scalp. This absorbs oil and loosens the dead skin on the scalp. Rinse it thoroughly with water. In the initial stages the hair would be dry but after several weeks you would be dandruff free with smooth and shiny hair.

Easy Home Remedies For Clear Skin

There are few things more frustrating than blemished skin, so consider turning to these easy home remedies for clear skin instead of harsh and expensive skin care creams and washes.
Especially if you have sensitive skin, you will most likely find that over the counter and prescription skin care products are too strong and can potentially add to the problem with your skin.

Furthermore, a trip down any grocery store or drug store aisle will produce an overwhelming number of skin care products that can easily rack up a hefty bill. Instead, save your skin in addition to saving a few bucks by whipping up a quick and easy skin care remedy out of items that are probably already in your home.

* Clear Your Skin From Within *

Remember the old saying, you are what you eat?

Although the adage has been around for years, the advice is completely up to date. If you find yourself suffering from acne or other skin blemishes, take a look of your body from the inside out.

Your body notifies you when something is off balance, especially when you are lacking the proper nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. This notification can likely express itself in the appearance of blemishes.

Instead of slathering your skin with items from the beauty aisle, take a walk down the rest of the aisle in your grocery store in order to experience a regeneration of your skin.

Eating a well-rounded, healthy diet is incredibly important. Be sure to include lots of fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet, as the nutrients provided by these items are critical.

Furthermore, drink at least eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day to ensure that your skin remains well hydrated.

* Skip The Drug Store And Head To The Kitchen *

Read any label of skin care product available on the retail market and you may find your tummy rumbling. These skin care products are packed with edible ingredients, from oatmeal to honey to avocado to cucumber.

Instead of buying these expensive, heavily preserved creams, lotions, and potions, consider making the alternative mixtures yourself.

Look no further than your kitchen for many fantastic home remedies for clear skin.
When you see a zit pop up, avoid the urge to squeeze! Instead, dab a bit of lemon juice on a cotton swab and apply to the affected area.

The acid in the lemon juice will help extract any infection and your will avoid adding more bacteria to the mix by keeping your hands off your skin.

Since one of the main problems associated with skin blemishes is dead skin cells, exfoliation is critical. Instead of spending big bucks on fancy bottles and containers of exfoliants, grab a canister of old fashioned oatmeal.

Mix with water and scrub your skin clean. The gentleness of the oatmeal is perfect for even the most sensitive skin and the grainy consistency will remove any dead skin cells before they have a problem.

You probably use toothpaste with baking soda for whitening your teeth, so why not use the same product to clear up your skin?

Each night, wash your face with baking soda and water. This mixture is perfect for keeping your skin clean and dry. The basic property of the baking soda works to dry up the excess oils that typically cause skin blemishes.

If a pimple rears its ugly head then you should head immediately to your stove. Mix ground nutmeg with milk and boil.

After the concoction is completely cooled, apply to the affected area and let dry overnight. Wash the yummy mixture off your face in the morning and you will be surprised by the results!

Effective Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Most of us suffer from fungal infections at some time or another during our life. Many of these infections occur in the superficial part of our body or in the skin. Fungal infections are transferable and some can be very dangerous and in extreme cases can even lead to death. Sometimes, you may be infected with a fungal infection and not even realize it.

One of the more common fungal infections is the yeast infection or in medical terms, candidiasis. Yeast infection is the infection of the mucous membranes caused by the fungus candida, specifically candida albicans.

Yeast infection also has another name, known as moniliaris, derived from the name form of a fungal genius, and thrush, a term usually reserved for infection of the mucous membrane of the mouth.
The fungus is a normal inhabitant of the mouth and vagina. Some certain bacteria that also inhibit the areas where the fungus is located usually follow the growth.

When the balance of these organisms is disturbed by certain antibiotic treatment or by hormonal imbalances or by weakening of the body's resistance to disease, the fungus can begin to proliferate, propagate and multiply.

There are different types of yeast infection. Depending on the area of the body where it develops, yeast infection can occur in the mouth, in the folds of the skin and the penis, usually called as balanitis.
The most common and popular type of candidiasis is the vaginal yeast infection an uncomfortable infection that almost two thirds of all women will experience at some time in their life.

Yeast infections are manageable but still need the attention of a physician. If you think you have a yeast infection, it is best that you consult your doctor and if he or she has no objections, you might try some of these home remedies.

If you have yeast infection, daub apple cider vinegar in the areas prone to infection regularly. You can add some garlic that will help stop the itchy feeling and water to dilute the vinegar concentration.

Curds and yogurt are foods identified to be the most effective home remedy for yeast infection. It is advisable to soak a tampon into curds and place it in the infected areas for at least an hour. The healthy required bacteria from the curds will replace the unhealthy yeast bacteria. This could be done twice or thrice a day.

Drinking at least two glasses of buttermilk a day is advisable whether you are infected or not. Curds should be part of the daily diet because this reduces the probability of yeast infection.

A Mixture of olive leaf extract with grape fruit seed extract in a glass of water is also a good potent tonic for this infection.

As a home remedy, it is also safe to take herbal products as alternatives to cure the infection.

Cranberry extract and cranberry blueberry extract are good for the infection. The two are good antioxidants as well.

The use of tea tree oil helps the curing of the infection. Dip a tampon in the oil until saturated then apply it the infected region.

You can also try applying baby oil with aloe and vitamin E to soothe the irritation and reduce the itchy sensation.

Raw garlic is a great antifungal and if you have a yeast infection on your skin, you might try rubbing some on it. I would avoid rubbing garlic on your private areas, however, as it can really sting.

Eating right, and including yogurt with active cultures in your diet as well as practicing proper personal hygene can all help to avoid yeast infection, however if you do happen to get one, it is nothing to be embarrassed about and you should see your doctor as soon as possible.

Natural Acne Cure

Finding a remedy for your outbreaks of pimples isn't that hard to do. The trick is getting one that works for your specific type of acne outbreaks and is natural. Don't get discouraged about it, you can have clear and healthy skin, it will just take a little experimentation and patience. Know about some treatments that have been beneficial as a natural acne cure for stubborn skin problems that you can use at home.

There are several types of treatments for blemishes and using them isn't all that hard. One treatment for blackheads is a wash of lime and milk. All you have to do is bring the milk to a gentle boil, and then add the juice from one lime, and you can wash your face. Let it cool a little, and if it feels too hot don't use it. Another type of natural acne cure is to use an astringent for a deep cleaning of your pores. At your local grocery store buy a leafy mango. Boil it in some water, and then rub it after it cools on your face. If your case of pimples isn't too severe you can just leave the mango to soak overnight. It's a natural acne cure that will clean your pores thoroughly.

Something that you probably eat everyday in some form is good for your skin as well. A raw potato is an ideal acne natural cure, especially for whiteheads. The vitamin C gives your skin a healthy glow, and its alkaline gets rid of the bacteria on your face. The potato has an acid in it too that scrubs away dead or dying skin cells on your face, which works as an acne natural cure. Don't forget that you can use the papaya fruit on your face, but it needs to be raw. A natural acne cure with these types of applications will help your skin stay healthy by stopping infection from spreading.

Finally, remember that any acne remedy might leave your skin a little parched for moisture at times during treatments. A good way to re-hydrate your skin after using a natural acne cure is to use Almond Oil. You'll need to buy a bag of almonds, and grind up with water approximately 4-5 good sized almond nuts. Spread the paste on your face, and don't scrub. It will smooth the face and add some moisture too. Buttermilk is another way to treat skin for dryness, and so are curds. If you've tried every over the counter medication for it and it's just not working, than you might want to use a natural acne cure. You can find a treatment solution in a natural acne cure, but take your time, and find out what works for you.
